New Office Hours for La Mesa

The front office will now be open daily from 8:00am - 12:00pm. There will also be extended hours every other Wednesday from 8:00am - 4:30pm to accommodate more families. Extended days will be posted on our calendar for your convenience.

UPDATED: Grab & Go Meals

The federal government has updated its regulations, and families are now able to access Grab & Go Meals without having to present student's name or student ID. Students do not have to be present for families to receive meals. Students must be 18 years and under.

ARCHIVES: Reopening of Our Schools Community Meetings

The Monterey Peninsula Unified School District initiated an internal Task Force to begin exploring the reopening of our schools in the 2020-21 school year based on the new guidelines released from the California Department of Education and the California Department of Public Health. The guidelines require schools to consider hybrid schedules in order to limit the total number of students on campus at one time and ensure that students are kept at least 6 feet apart where practical. 

MPUSD held four community Town Hall meetings to provide information, answer questions and to hear input from families.

La Mesa's PTA is a wonderful place to get to know your child's school, meet other parents, and help your child's learning community. Our PTA is responsible for tons of on and off campus activities and fundraisers. It's a great way to be engaged in the local community, support your child, learn about various support services, stay updated on school functions, and mingle with other military families. We are a TreeRing School!

Congratulations to La Mesa Elementary on being a TreeRing Green Yearbook School! Since we've sold 101 yearbooks, we'll be working with our partner, Trees for the Future, to plant that many trees in our school's name.

Lyceum Spelling Bee

Our 4th and 5th graders have been preparing for the annual Lyceum Spelling Bee. Contestants will compete on stage at La Mesa on February 7th from 12:00-1:00. Two finalists and two alternates will be determined to advance to the County Final Spelling Bee at San Benancio Middle School. The competition will be held February 23rd at 9:30-12:00. Come support our hard-working students.

Candy Grams

La Mesa's student council is fundraising to repair our wall ball wall. Candy grams will be sold for $1 each. Students can purchase as many candy grams as they would like. Money must be submitted to class room teachers no later than February 12th.
