It's Federal Survey Day - October 13

It's Federal Survey Day in the Monterey Peninsula Unified School District. Every parent in the Monterey Peninsula Unified School District will be asked to complete a Federal Survey Card through ParentSquare or paper/pencil via U.S. mail. School districts conduct this survey to identify the number of military and Department of Defense civilian employee children attending our local public schools. Whether you are military connected or not, all survey cards must be completed, signed and returned in order for MPUSD to receive additional funding to serve our students. The district recaptures property tax revenue which fund our local schools. In previous years, MPUSD received an additional $1 million in Department of Defense Education Activity federal funding as a result of collecting this data through the Federal Survey Card.

Free Food for Families

This Just In - MPUSD is a recipient of a U.S. Dept. of Agriculture which allows us to provide fresh produce, dairy and protein to our families. First come, first served during our Grab & Go Meal program hours 12 - 2 p.m. on Wednesdays and Thursdays at designated sites.

Principal's Message

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome all of our families to La Mesa Elementary School for the start of the school year. I am very proud to have served with this staff and community and I look forward to building an even stronger connection between the school and families.

We have had hundreds of volunteers and thousands of hours of service on our campus this last year and we are hoping to keep this tradition alive. Please ask for information about volunteering and complete a volunteer form in the main office. You can also get more information at the La Mesa Facebook page or contact the PTA at lamesapta@gmail.com

We have been working very hard and have established a strong foundation to support you and your children here at La Mesa. We are fortunate to have multiple support systems in place to ensure that your child is physically and emotionally safe. We will also ensure that your child has access to opportunities that support a balanced educational experience by offering Physical education, science, art, music, theater, technology, and school leadership opportunities through the Anchored for Life and Student to Student Programs. We will grow and improve daily, together.
