November marks National Homeless Youth Awareness Month at MPUSD

November is National Homeless Youth Awareness Month, a time to recognize and support students and families experiencing housing insecurity.

At the Monterey Peninsula Unified School District, we are committed to ensuring that every student — regardless of their housing situation — has the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed.

Through MPUSD’s McKinney-Vento Homeless Education Program, the district provides resources and services to remove barriers that may impact a student’s education. This includes assistance with school enrollment, transportation, academic support, and connecting families to community resources for stability and well-being.

MPUSD works closely with community partners and local agencies to provide wraparound support for youth and families. Together, we are raising awareness and reaffirming our commitment to creating equitable access to education for all students.

If you or someone you know is experiencing homelessness or housing instability, please reach out to the MPUSD McKinney-Vento program.
